It's exactly what I hoped for and expected. This is a decorative mat...it's not meant to be trampled on or have people wipe their feet on it. It's printed on...so the lettering would be destroyed shortly if used for that purpose. It's a novelty mat that is intended to greet people indoors. It's of good quality, it's not as thick as a regular door mat...but because it's not a regular door mat. I think its great and I am 100% happy with my purchase, communication and would buy again. I had mine say 'The Moore Family'. It was done in small letters so there is so much empty space left on the rug. Disappointing there but I also thought it would be thicker and it wasn't.
